This event occurs in the past Join us for a Family Moonviewing Weekend at Shofuso! Enjoy Otsukimi themed activities during the day, and special evening events under the moon! Saturday & Sunday 11am-5pm: Otsukimi Family Days at Shofuso Otsukimi themed activities, including a choral performance, rabbit origami, seasonal crafts, and kamishibai storytelling. Free with admission! Saturday 11am: Family Dango-Making Class at Sakura Pavilion Dango are sweet moon-shaped mochi, or sweet rice flour balls, that are traditionally made, displayed, and served during Otsukimi in Japan. Delicious fun! Parents must register with children, but all are welcome. Registration required: $15 per person. Saturday 6pm-9pm: Otsukimi Moonviewing Party at Shofuso Enjoy rustic Japanese food and sweets, sip sake, enjoy quiet music, and celebrate a successful harvest while watching the moon rise over the pine trees at this traditional, contemplative Japanese gathering.
