Doctors' Orders: Laurel Hill's Physicians And Their Patients

Let Laurel Hill write you a prescription to cure your post-winter blues; join us for a fascinating walking tour that examines the relationships between the Cemetery’s most medicinal residents and their patients.

Since the time of Hippocrates, the doctor-patient relationship has been regarded as the foundation of good health care. From the physicians who were closer than a heartbeat to the Presidency; the doctor who prescribed isolation and a milk-based diet to treat anxiety; to the woman who earned France’s highest military award before American women were allowed to vote; doctors and patients have relied on good faith throughout the ages. And yet, no matter the prognosis, treatment or outcome, “death is the destination we all share.”

This walking tour will take place on Saturday, April 11 at 1:00pm, departing from Laurel Hill Cemetery’s Gatehouse entrance at 3822 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132. Free parking is located in the lot across the street from the Gatehouse.

Cost: $12 adults, $10 students/seniors.
