This event occurs in the past The region’s nature center community gathers to honor one of its own while discussing its collective future. Bob Mercer, beloved director of the Silver Lake Nature Center in Bristol, is retiring after 40 years, and receives the 10th annual Henry Meigs Award for Environmental Leadership, named for one of our founders. After presenting his thoughts on the future of nature and environmental education centers, Bob will be joined by leaders from the Schuylkill Center, Fairmount Water Works, New Jersey’s Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association, and Delaware Nature Society to engage the audience in a conversation on the future of the region’s many environmental education centers.
